Caricature of the working class
“The plumber” (Samuel J. Wurzelbacher) thought he was in line for his “15 minutes of fame” when Maverick made him the poster boy for the anti-tax movement. Instead, it only made him fair game.
Joe now has an Ayers-tired press and paparazzi camped outside his door 24/7 and media interns and bloggers running background checks and digging frantically into his tax records, plumbing accreditation, and former political affiliations.
Mav’s people, who tried so hard and unsuccessfully to paint Bill Ayers in black and white terms (unrecognizable to those who know or work with him) should have known better than to bank the last three weeks of their miserable campaign on this quarter-million-a-year caricature of the working class. Now they’re stuck with him like they’re stuck with winky-dink Palin.
Poor Joe should have run for cover when he saw the cameras and politicians coming into his neighborhood.
