I thought we won the election

Now I hear that John McCain and the Limbaugh Party are holding education funding hostage in the stimulus package debate. Better contact your senators and remind them the reason that we threw these guys out in November.

So this is what the Senate seems to be coming down to: keeping bridges and throwing students out the window. The effort to prune the stimulus package to make it more palatable to Republicans is focused on slashing money for education.

    Agreed. A simpler petition that auto-selects your senators (and adds Obama) for you is available here.

    And the negotiations over the final bill will continue into this week, so there's still time to speak up. I fear people will think the headlines means it's a done deal. It's not.
