Something rotten in the state of N.Y.

This from a teacher in New York:

"Never thought I'd be posting a New York Post editorial by Diane Ravitch because I agreed with it, but these are strange and dire times."

Ravitch lays it all out here.
There's something rotten in the state Education Department. Year after year, New York officials have been claiming impressive gains in student achievement -- claims we now know to be false.

1 comment:

  1. Ravitch has explicitly renounced many of her past views on public education. It sounds like the teacher wasn't aware of that. She's not forgiven for the past in a few quarters (Jim Horn on the Schools Matter blog is pretty unyielding), but in general she's now in sync with most critics of "education deform."
