Prof. Herbert Gans from Columbia Teachers College, makes a good case for a federal smaller-class-size initiative. There's plenty of good research backing him up. Or you can ask any classroom teacher and they will tell you how important it is. As expected, Gans has the wing-nuts' shorts in a twist.
