As most of you know, I have been sharply critical of Chicago schools CEO
Arne Duncan over the so-called
Renaissance 2010 program, school closings, and over his buy-in for Bush's NCLB testing madness. But I have to give him credit for
showing some heart yesterday.
His voice quaking with emotion, Chicago Public Schools chief Arne Duncan declined on Tuesday to accept an anti-gun violence award, saying "I don't feel I've earned it'' with student deaths on track to double this school year.
