He served hot dogs and water. That's a true Democrat.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-133521035538248322.post-37854629244569293962013-01-22T14:18:20.393-06:002013-01-22T14:18:20.393-06:00I wrote a VERY lengthy comment which was erased by...I wrote a VERY lengthy comment which was erased by WP (have been having trouble), which is why I have to comment as Anonymous.
As I'm pressed for time (I'll try to pick it up & post later), in a nutshell--
I find the wretched excess of the inauguration absolutely appalling and disgusting (really--the First Lady was wearing "Jimmy Choos?" inaugural luncheon menu included ""Korbel Natural, Special Inaugural Cuvee California Champagne?") This, when my neighbors are standing in line at the food bank; this when I read a Chicago Trib. article today (P.5, Business)-"A frightening foreclosure horror: Zombie Titles," describing the process by which banks renege on foreclosure after they decide that "it isn't worth their while to complete the foreclosure process," thus sticking the unknowing "homeowner" (who has already moved out of the home) with mounting fees and debts.
I would have so respected a President who said, "You know, the country is in financial turmoil, we're not going to do this this year."
As for the argument--just as the one proffered in the U.K., "But the people LOVE their monarchs!"--that the American people LOVE all this pomp & circumstance-- I say, ask the 99% who were in the streets.
Appalling...disgusting. The United States is broken, and it behooves
WE--the people--to fix it, because our elected officials have not yet and will not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
